I thought Debra Waterhouse’s Outsmarting the Female Fat Cell After Pregnancy: Every Woman’s Guide to Shaping Up, Slimming Down, and Staying Sane After the Baby was quite helpful in making me realize after my second pregnancy that:
- I should forget about trying to lose weight in the first 6 weeks
- I need to change the portion sizes after 6 weeks
- Start moving
There is also lots of other interesting information that explains what’s going on with your body and metabolism post-pregnancy.
