Drinking water, filters and osmosis
Almost as soon as Leia was born I was overcome with an extraordinary thirst. I drank literally gallons of water and was constantly requesting refils to a large jug that became a permanent fixture beside my bed. Three months later, and water is still a top priority on my weekly spend. Several times a day, I feel an unnatrual thirst come over me and then about a minute later I feel my milk drop. Nature is truly remarkable.
I know everyone harps on about water and 8 glasses a day… but it is worth thinking about for a minute. I have been buying bottled water for years and it is such an unbelievable pain. Not to mention the expense. Now I am reading bottled water isn’t even all that great for you. Sometimes those bottles sit for years on shelves and the plastic chemicals permeate…
Finally I decided to buy a water filter… I tried a Brita in the past but never knew when the thing was working and somehow it just didn’t feel robust enough for my fussy filtered needs. So I have to thank a friend of mine who is extremely knowledgable on “all matters health,” who told me about the Reverse Osmosis System by Nimbus. The filter seen in the photo is easily fit onto the faucet and takes a second to remove and in most cases will work for up to a year before needing a new filter. The membrane of the reverse osmosis system filters out up to 98% of the dissolved solids and more than 99% of the micro biological pollution.
I recently moved to Long Island and the tap water here is horrid. Everyone thought I was very wasteful for pouring Poland Spring in the kettle, but I honestly couldn’t stand the taste of the water. So once I got the Nimbus up and running, the first osmosis test was making a cup of tea. It works a treat.
